The Ways of Incense: Trails of Time, Tells of Faraway Places
A celebration that marks the cycle of growing and burning in the Gunaikurnai Country through the intricate practice of incense making, burning, and smelling. The facility provides a sanctuary for individuals searching for a sense of place and belonging, including those who have lost their homes to recent bushfires and are on a journey to rekindle their relationships with nature and fire. Through the process of crafting and burning incense, reconciliation is thus strengthened and enhanced with fragrant dialogues.

The architecture of the facility; the residency, workshop, and incense meditation pavilions, take a contemplative approach, aiming to foster an environment that encourages individuals to slow down and reconnect with themselves and with the land. The crafting program involves a thoughtful process of selecting indigenous plants that grow on-site to connecting deeply with its essence through the mindful practice of incese meditation.
